Bakker Sliedrecht makes an important contribution to the continuity of installations waste companies HVC and AVR

24 October 2019

In the past few weeks, Bakker Sliedrecht has been involved in the large-scale inspection, repair and replacement of electrical components of the incineration plants of waste and energy companies HVC in Dordrecht and AVR in Rotterdam. The electrical system integrator thus contributes to the prevention of technical problems and outages.

AVR started a Total Plant Shutdown in mid-September, the first in twenty years, in which all installations receive thorough inspection and maintenance. In two weeks’ time, around a thousand people worked on incinerators, engines and other installations for two weeks in a row. Bakker Sliedrecht was responsible for the inspection, maintenance and repair of the low-voltage systems. With a team of thirty people, 23 large, heavy low-voltage panels are checked, cleaned and repaired on site at 10 locations. If necessary, parts were replaced.

“The power supply is essential for the operation of the incinerators and supply of electricity. If you do not inspect and maintain it on time, all kinds of doom scenarios can arise,” say Henk Bogaard, Manager High Voltage and Warranty, and Nico IJzerman, Specialist High Voltage, from Bakker Sliedrecht.

At waste and energy company HVC in Dordrecht, Bakker Sliedrecht also completed a two-week inspection and maintenance service recently. During this shutdown, the company could continue to operate partially. At HVC Dordrecht, Bakker Sliedrecht was deployed for inspection, testing and maintenance of the high-voltage installations, which form the heart of HVC's entire electrical installation.

The electrical system integrator has extensive experience in the maintenance of the electricity supplies in various industrial sectors, from wind farms to the maritime sector. In this way, Bakker Sliedrecht minimises the risks and costs of power cuts and outages everywhere. Partly thanks to the work of Bakker Sliedrecht, AVR and HVC, the energy supply to the local living environment will be continued in the coming years.
