BigRoll developed a vessel that is specifically designed to deliver modules and equipment for large projects. It is also highly suited to travel to remote areas such as the Arctic regions. Bakker Sliedrecht participated in the design of the innovative propulsion configuration which ensures safe, reliable and fast transits with particular focus on low fuel consumption.
Bakker Sliedrecht has delivered the electrical systems of the Module Carrier (MC-class) vessels, which will be operated by heavy marine transportation provider BigRoll Shipping. The 1A Ice Class vessels are specifically designed for the marine transportation of major modules and equipment for large energy projects, both on and offshore, to some of the most remote and inaccessible areas on the planet. In the early design phase, Bakker Sliedrecht participated in the design of the innovative propulsion configuration. This configuration ensures safe, reliable, and fast transit with particular focus on low fuel consumption, resulting in lower operational costs. An FMEA study lead by Bakker Sliedrecht has proven the reliability of the design and showcased the skills and expertise of Bakker Sliedrecht’s engineering team.
As an electrical system integrator, Bakker Sliedrecht has been fully responsible for the successful integration of all electrical systems of the MC-class vessels, which are DP 2 prepared.
