Bakker Sliedrecht has successfully replaced the sand pump drive of the cutter suction dredger Huta 14. The replacement of the sand pump drive was part of an extensive renovation project that was carried out in cooperation with Royal IHC.
Bakker Sliedrecht was responsible for the engineering, assembly, and commissioning of the sand pump drive that will improve the efficiency of the dredger. The integration of the electrical system was executed on site in Saudi Arabia as technical documentation was not always available. In this way, a smooth installation process in a later stage was ensured. The sand pump drive was assembled in the workshop of Bakker Sliedrecht in the Netherlands and then shipped to Saudi Arabia. The technical crews of Huta and Bakker Sliedrecht worked closely together to install the new sand pump drive on board the vessel.
During the renovation project, Royal IHC replaced three main diesel engines. Bakker Sliedrecht integrated them into the electrical system of the vessels.
The technical crews of Huta and Bakker Sliedrecht worked closely together to install the new sand pump drive on board the vessel. This includes placing, connecting, and testing new cables.
Well-trained operators get the most out of systems and installations. The crew of the Huta 14 will receive on site training from Bakker Sliedrecht to work more safely, effectively, and efficiently with the new sand pump drive.
